While trolling the internet for a holiday cottage to rent this coming long weekend I came across this beauty on Dangar Island. The Island is situated in the middle of the hawskburry river one hour north of sydney's CBD. This charming little community is accessible via ferry or water taxi and no cars are allowed on the island. The locals use wheelborrows to cart supplies around (isn't that cute).
Unfortuantley this lovely cottage is not a holiday rental but it could be yours permanently. It's currently for sale for a very reasonable $797000, reasonable for Sydney anyway.

Yes i saw it for sale too and thought, wow that's cheap!! sadly though all of the fabulous treasures wouldn't stay. I wonder how much it would be full furnished and decorated?
ReplyDeleteperfect style, love it.
It looks & sounds so idyllic. Am loving the striped wallpaper. And no cars? Bliss. Hope you get to go!
ReplyDeleteJules the listing says the owners are open to negotiations on including some of the furniture with the sale of the cottage. Tempting!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely home! I love the way it's been decorated.

ReplyDeleteI wish I wish I wish... I need to find somewhere to live at present.. and this place is perfect.. except one couldn't commute to the city... and I'm not buying.. hahah.. but... if not for those troublesome little irks... perfect!!!
Love the post above also!! xx Julie
I suspect the Dangar locals wouldn't be too pleased about their wheelbarrow use being described as 'cute'. (Especially considering the no doubt lingering traumas from the Great Golf Buggy War some years ago.) Slightly condescending, non?
