Austalia's First Lady of Style

Australia's Governor General Quentin Bruce is our answer to Jackie Kennedy. Ms Bryce is always so impeccably turned out, she is the epitome of style and a lesson to all of us on growing old gracefully. I know this post is completely unrelated to interiors but I have a massive girl crush and couldn't resist sharing some pictures. I once met Ms Bryce at a gallery opening when she was the then Governor of Queensland. I can attest that she is charming in every way. A true role model, not only was she the first female to be admitted into the Bar in Queensland she went on to have a successful career as a human rights lawyer and advocate for woman. All the while maintain a marriage and raising a family.

  1. Here, here. I agree with all you say and I remember meeting her in Brisbane when she was Governor too. She was very charming and remembered everyone's names. I wish I had her clothing allowance!!!

  4. She is incredibly stylish in every way, its great to see women in the top jobs in Australia, hopefully Julia Gillard can be as good a role model & inspiration as Quentin Bryce.

  6. Hi, have just found your blog - fabulous. I love Paddo too - my gorgeous late cousin used to live there in a lovely old terrace.

Yes, I too have been an admirer of Quentin Bryce. She truly does have style, brains, and to do all she has done while raising a family!!!! - Quite a lady. I look forward to visiting your blog more often and going thru old posts over the weekend.
