Andrew Martin Pure Genius

The Andrew Martin range of fabrics have such a sense of drama. The styling of their advertising campaigns play up on this, creating theatrical magic. I have just ordered a bolt of the Celeste fabric for a job (last image) and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Jasper Conran - Staircase Envy

I have staircase envy. The beautiful set that grace the entrance foyer of Jasper Conran's Flagship London store are my idea of "perfection". Stone treads, detailed ironwork balustrading and timber hand rail, who would have thought that a girl could get so excited about a set of stairs.

I have long been a fan of Jaspers dinnerware and I think it's great that he has added the more casual items to his range (as seen here in the last image). The stylist did a great job on this picture there is nothing contrived about it, they just kept it pure and simple.

Designers Guild Blanket Sale

With winter well and truly here in Sydney I'm contemplating purchasing a gorgeous Designers Guild blanket. I love the fact that they are reversible so really you are getting two blankets for the price of one, at least that's how I justify it to myself.

Stella, Stella!

The beautiful home of Zuster furniture designer Wilhelmina McCarroll. Her cluster wall speaks to my love of all things horse related.

The Stella table range created by Zuster designer Wilhelmina McCarrol would have to be my favourite table at the moment. There is something quite sensuous and womanly about the curved legs. I love it so much I'm specifying it for the Vaucluse project I'm currently working on.

Luxurious Leather

In what now seems like a past life I worked as the head designer and buyer for a national furniture retailer. During my time there I was lucky enough to visit some of the great design fairs, like Milan and collaborated with some world class manufacturing companies. One of my favorite quality leather suppliers is renowned Italian company Incanto.

Designer Crush

I have a new designer crush. Thai Cong Quach from Germany is putting out some amazing work at the moment. Not only is he a fantastic designer but he is also a published photograher. Like me he has a love of Osborne and Little wallpapers, they have been used in all of the above images of his work.

As a Stylist I am always looking for inspiring images to fuel my creativity. I love the styling of this picture, the eye chart and glasses are quirky and unexpected.

Paint Selections

I would like to thank everyone for their kind comments, emails and phone messages regarding the Home Beautiful cover and feature story. I have receieved a lot of enquires regarding the exterior colour of my home. The main wall colour is Dulux "Guild Grey" (see above paint swatch). The trims are Dulux "White on White" and the iron work is done in a matt black.

Home Beautiful

This month's issue of Home Beautiful features my home on the front cover. I have only posted a small image from the inside, if you want to see more go out and buy yourself a copy! The issue is full of great ideas and inspiring images. Check out the South American living room on page 103, the fireplace detailing is exquisite.

Paddington Perfection

Now that I have finished renovating my Paddington home I'm starting to get itchy feet. I came across this ethereal living room in a house listed for sale in Paddington. The home was designed by award winning architect Ian Moore and Associates. The old farmhouse table adds a tactile warmth to the space and the patterns cast on the ceiling from the chandelier create a calming energy.

Simple Things Make Me Smile

I came across this image the other day when I was searching for a interior photographer. It was taken by UK based photographer John Paul. The simplicity and beauty of it made me smile, I wonder what lucky person owns these adorable slippers.

Modern Japan

Designers Guild "Saraceno" fabric was used in the banquette seating at the Conrad's Chine Blue Restaurant. See a close up of the fabric below

This image highlights the cantilevered fireplace in the bar at the Conrad Tokyo.  I often find that large commercial spaces with vast ceilings can feel sterile, the fireplace here added a real warmth to this room though. At night the picture windows have the most amazing view of the city skyline and Tokyo Bay.

Asian Influence

I am off to Japan for a few days and I'm hoping to bring back lots of new images to give you all a bit of Asian inspiration. I can't wait to check out the new Ralph Lauren Mansion store opened in Tokyo (see above). I have been to the Milan and New York versions and was blown away by the level of detail in the merchandising of the homewares and furnishing range.
